10-ride pass

Even though I am not a particularly massive Beatles fan, it makes me happy to walk into every Starbucks i go to and hear songs like "All my lovin". I walked downtown Elmhurst today and I heard all the good Beatles songs playing at the town square outside.

Today i found out that i didn't fail my bio quiz. I thought i had, because the posted grades online told me so. Then in class i found out i aced the test and my professor had typed in someone else's grades for me.

oh, and i quit my job for a multitude of reasons. now i'm probably going to be a french tutor.

learning > school

It's my first week of college, and I already miss homeschooling. It's like learning dies as soon as it crosses the threshold of institutionalized education.

mais oui

Today in my FYS class, we had an "icebreaker" activity to get to know ourselves better. One professor put a map of the world on the wall, and everyone had to put three star stickers on the map. The gold star represented where you're going in the near future. I picked Chicago. The green star was for your ancestral origin, so I chose Italy. And the red star goes where you aren't at present, but where someone you're close to is. So i put one on LA.
