Simplify your situation with respect to goals. Know that you cannot absolutely control the outcome when there's more than just you who are involved. Whatever happens, reconcile by knowing that you've thought whatever out and you gave it your best shot.
Even to this day, people marvel at Albert Einstein's genius. He had the gift of reducing the term, "genius" (one he didn't care for) in terms we all could easily understand:
“It's not that I'm so smart" Einstein said, "it's just that I stay with problems longer.”
People tune out, and they don't get the goal. Your Philippians bible passage was very good, so I'll use another bible passage as an example of this.
Everyone knows the gist of I Thessalonians 5:2 -- "For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night."
And most people take it from there and run. But those who have the patience and the persistence to gather more, carry on:
3 For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape. 4 But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief. 5 Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness. 6 Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober.
The additional time spent gathering that information now changes things drastically, doesn't it?
Keep it on the backburner, and keep at it. You'll do just fine, n'est pas?
Finding a way to do just that is paramount.
